FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

q: What makes your package different from others?
a: The Barefoot Resort Package was designed by college coaches with fellow coaches in mind. Our goal was to put together a complete spring break package for golf teams at a location which could offer the best of all worlds...4 award winning golf courses, excellent practice facilities, great food and lodging and of course...the beach.

Our package is as simple as it gets for coaches. We take care of everything. We make your tee times...arrange competition matches with other teams...house your teams in 2-3-4 bedroom villas complete with kitchens, washer and dryer....discounts for lunch/dinner at several restaurants in Myrtle Beach and best of all were about $20-30 less per day/player than Pinehurst and Orange County National. Plus COACHES PLAY, STAY and EAT FREE!

q: Do we have to stay at Barefoot Resort in order to be included in the package?
a: Yes, to get the best prices for lodging and golf we have to stay at one property that can accommodate a large number of teams and coaches.

q: Can parents or alumni be included in the package?
a: Yes, teams will often bring "friends of the program" to enjoy what Myrtle Beach has to offer.

q: How far is the practice facility from our accommodations?
a: About a one or two minute drive from anywhere on the resort property. The Yacht Club Villas are about a one minute drive from the practice facility.

q: Are meals included in the package price?
a: Buffet breakfast at the Barefoot Clubhouse prior to each day of play is included in your package price. In addition, several restaurants will be giving discounts to teams that dine with them. All golf villas have full kitchens for those who wish to eat in.

q: Can we play other courses besides those that are scheduled?
a: Yes. You would just need to let us know which day(s) you would not be playing one of the Barefoot courses.

q: Do we have to play in competition against other schools?
a: No. Some teams only wish to practice while others would like to compete.  We can arrange matches.  Just let us know when you register.

q: How many days do we need to stay?
a: Teams usually stay anywhere from 5-7 days but it is entirely up to you.  We have no minimum or maximum requirements.

q: What happens if it rains and we can't play?
a: The Barefoot courses seldom close due to rain. Only if the course is closed will green fees be refunded.

q: What kind of deposit is required for the package?
a: 90 days prior to your arrival a $500.00 deposit is required payable by check only. The remaining balance must be paid in full 21 days prior to your arrival in Myrtle Beach.

q: Some schools pay for the entire package while others have their players pay for all or part of it. Can individual billing be arranged?
a: No. All deposits and billing must be paid by the school's or coach's check.  This would also include any '"friends of the program" who participate on your golf package.

q: What airports service the Myrtle Beach area?
a: Myrtle Beach has it's own airport.  There is another airport 90 minutes away in Wilmington, NC.  Some teams find it more cost effective to fly into Raleigh/Durham, NC and drive the 2 1/2 hour trip into Myrtle Beach.

q: Who takes care of securing tee times on each day we will play?
a: We will take care of everything. The coach only needs to get his players to the course that is scheduled for that day.

q: What is your policy on riding carts?
a: The package price includes a riding cart with the operator at least 16 years of age per golf course rules and regulations.
